Originally established to understand, perpetuate, and celebrate the art of hula among the students of President Theodore Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, Hawai`i, Halau Pomaika`ikalani continues its tradition of community service by offering complimentary Hula and Tahitian instruction at Booth Park in Pauoa.
Through its endeavors, Halau Pomaika`ikalani, its Kumu Hula Renee Kamana`o-Bulosan and its dancers hope to surround themselves with the knowledge, love and spirit of the Hawaiian language and culture. Every week is a new lesson in hula, and we hope to apply these lessons to all of our future competitions and performances.
Join us Fridays, 6 to 8 p.m. at Booth District Park in Pauoa, 2331 Kaneali`i Avenue.
